POINT OF NO RETURN

POINT OF NO RETURN is the first full-length Waacking production for the theater stage in Germany. The aesthetics and essence of Waacking are translated into a sensitive, powerful, and expressive performance for five dancers who approach the POINT OF NO RETURN with the movement language of Waacking. The POINT OF NO RETURN is a moment that suddenly changes one's entire life. There is no turning back here—only the possibility of change, whether self-determined or due to external influences. What marks the beginning of this transformative moment, and when does it end? A POINT OF NO RETURN also means facing all adverse conditions with self-determination by continuing. Waacking, as a powerful movement language of resistance, merges in content with the dancers' search for the "before" and "after" of the point of no return. The aesthetically precise, subtle, and captivating Waacking performance manages to do justice to a marginalized club culture while simultaneously reimagining it for the future and transforming it into new spaces. POINT OF NO RETURN primarily addresses people interested in street and club dance cultures, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies and marginalized groups and stands for raising the visibility of underrepresented artists, art forms and audiences.
