THE WEIRDNESS IS CONSISTENT

This is not a piece.

This is an artistic encounter of very different approaches to working in dance. Our meeting place was the floor of a dance studio; in total, we had only 20 hours. The goal was to avoid hierarchies in order to bring forward, on a respectful level, everything that was stirring in our hearts and minds. What you see today is a glimpse; nothing is set in stone, but…the strangeness remains (at least) the same.

For the STEP BY STEP program, Ballett am Rhein and tanzhaus nrw join forces to develop experimental formats that promote emerging talent. Dancers from the ballet company and freelance dance artists who regularly work at tanzhaus nrw exchange ideas, discuss their artistic work and methods, and form new collaborations.
