DSCHINNS
"Dschinns" is not only a story about the fate of many "guest worker" families in 1990s Germany, but also a social portrait of the difficulty of reconciling traditional values with the individual yearning for freedom. In Bassam Ghazi's production, seven djinns appear on stage alongside the family: a chorus of people with migration histories who tell the story of the Yılmaz family and weave their own perspectives on family, migration, and the search for identity into the narrative.
